The following comprises a list of current books on WAP and WML / WMLScript.

WAP Development with WML and WMLScript - Ben Forta, et al
Publisher: SAMS
SAMS tends to specialise in introductory books. We haven't seen this one, but reviews suggest that it covers WML and WMLScript comprehensively, using lots of example scripts.

Learning WML & WMLScript - Martin Frost
Publisher: O'Reilly
O'Reilly books are generally clear, systematic, and to the point. This book run through all the WML / WMLScript syntax in logical steps, before ending with a couple of concrete examples.

Professional WAP - Charles Arehart et al
Publisher: Wrox Press
Wrox Press books tend to be very large, and to attack their topic from lots of different angles. After the (good) initial chapters on WML / WMLScript syntax, there are chapters on WAP in relation to: usability, Java, XSLT, Coldfusion, LDAP, etc.

Inside WAP: Programming Applications with WML and WML Script - Pekka Niskanen
Publisher: Addison Wesley
An introductory book aimed at those who want to combine WAP with server-side programming of the open-source flavour (covers Perl and Java servlets). Comes with a useful CD containing the Nokia WAP toolkit, Perl 5, source code, etc.

Beginning WAP: WML and WMLScript - Mee Soo Foo, et al.
Publisher: Wrox Press
Like their 'Professional WAP', this book covers a lot of ground . It is more focused on introducing the various aspects of WML and WMLScript to the beginner, however.
